Academic Reports and the College Learning Plan
What is included in my academic report and what does it mean?
Students receive academic reports in Semester 1 and 2 each year. These include you’re a comment about what you are good at, what your areas of improvement are and the strategies you can use to achieve success in the future. Reports also include information about how committed you are to your learning such as how well you participate in class, organise your time effectively, and work cooperatively; how well you work independently, engage in your learning and complete set tasks. Your report also includes your overall mark and grade in each subject, and how your mark and grade compares with other students in your class or grade. Grades are included for each subject outcome. An outcome is something you are trying to achieve in each course.
Reflecting on your learning
When you receive your report it is important to reflect on your learning. What did you do well in? what subjects needed a bit more effort? Did you complete homework and study? This year when you receive your reports you will be given time to examine your reports and things about the achievements you have made and the changes you might like to implement to improve. Before you get your report at the end of this semester. Take some time to complete your own personal learning summary. Fill in the ratings scales below for 5 of you subjects. You might like to think about your other subjects later today or when you go home.
Personal Learning Summary
Reflect on your learning so far this semester for each subject.
